چکیده

This paper proposes an optical-based tactile sensor design concept, which uses a light angle and intensity to infer force displacement from deformations of silicone pillar. The proposed simple, low-cost fabrication method with overall small-scale form factor. can measure 3D displacement, force, vibration. estimation error (mean ± SD) in the X, Y, Z axes was -10.8 52.1 μm, 15.4 66.5 μm 1.8 17.6 respectively, over full-scale lateral 1 mm radius X Y 2.2 compression Z. -8.5 47.6 mN, 49.0 mN -28.0 92.6 for approximately 2 N or 6 Sensitivity vibrations range 10-950 Hz also evaluated showing good sensitivity this entire range. new sensing approach could be benefit robotic manipulation applications, as it easily arrayed and/or integrated into fingers gripper sense slip events load grip forces torques.

Nonstructured light-based sensing for 3D reconstruction

Structured light-based sensing (SLS) requires the illumination to be coded either spatially or temporally in the illuminated pattern. However, while the former demands the use of uniquely coded spatial windows whose size grows with the reconstruction resolution and thereby demanding increasing smoothness on the imaged scene, the latter demands the use of multiple image captures. This article pr...

Integration of Vision, Force and Tactile Sensing for Grasping

Most robotic hands are either sensorless or lack the ability to report accurate position and force information relating to contact. This paper describes a robotic hand system that uses a limited set of native joint position and force sensing along with custom designed tactile sensors and real-time vision modules to accurately compute finger contacts and applied forces for grasping tasks. A numb...

A Low-cost Soft Tactile Sensing Array using 3D Hall Sensors

Tactile sensors are essential for robotic systems to safely interact with the external world and to precisely manipulate objects. Existing tactile sensors are typically either expensive or limited by poor performance, and most are not mechanically compliant. This work presents MagTrix, a soft tactile sensor array based on four 3D Hall sensors with corresponding permanent magnets. MagTrix has th...
